Paul Westhorpe - Managing Director

Paul Westhorpe has been totally focused on creating and growing businesses for over 18 years.

For the last two and half years, Paul has been deeply involved in a consulting role with Grupo PRISA, Spain's largest media company with operations in Press, Radio, TV and Publishing across 23 countries. Initially, Paul brought together a team of four consultants to develop the Online Digital Strategy for Grupo PRISA. After delivering the strategy, Paul stayed on for a period of two years to assist in the implementation and help in growing Digital Revenues within the Group by 300%.

Prior to the engagement at PRISA in 2009, Paul and his wife founded Bamboo Cricket, which is an online customer service company offering Chat and Inbound Email Management. The company operates today throughout the US, Europe & LATAM and is managed by his wife Barbara.

Prior to Bamboo Cricket, Paul was co-founder and CEO at Digital Connexxions Corporation. In 2006 Paul successfully sold that company to InfoUSA (a NASDAQ traded company) where it was merged into Yesmail. At the time of the sale, the company, which was focused in the email marketing space, was delivering 2.8 Billion emails per month on behalf of more than 350 publications, including PC Magazine, GQ, Glamour, Conde Traveller, Golf Digest, Vogue, to name only a few.

Paul has managed and consulted with the publishing vertical for FloNetwork (a leading direct marketing and email software & services ASP that was later acquired by DoubleClick). Under his leadership, the company established itself as the premier supplier of e-marketing solutions and services to the publishing industry.

In addition, Paul co-founded Atlantic Connect Inc. Within one year, the company grew to become the largest Internet Service Provider in Atlantic Canada and was later sold to a Canadian public company as part of a national role up strategy.

Paul is also a recognized speaker in the area of online marketing focusing on subscriber acquisition and retention and data management. Previous speaking engagements include IAB, DMA, Online Publishers Assoc., DM Days New York, American Marketing Association, BPA and Internet World.



Regina Brady - Marketing

Prior to joining the Westhorpe Group, Ms. Brady was Vice President of Strategy and Partnerships for FloNetwork Inc., a leading email service bureau that has since been acquired by DoubleClick.

Ms. Brady provided front-line development and deal structuring for domestic and international strategic partnerships, and served as spokesperson to industry, media and investors.

Prior to that, as Vice President of Interactive Services for Acxiom/Direct Media she was recruited to a virtual start-up to launch their Internet division. Brady was given full autonomy to expand the scope of the business into Internet-based direct marketing and web-portal delivery channels.

Her career also includes marketing positions at Margrace Corporation, Hearst Publishing, Columbia House and the Longines Symphonette Society. She is a member of the Direct Marketing Association and served for six years on their Ethics Policy Committee developing standards for direct marketing professionals.

Target Marketing Magazine named Reggie one of the top 200 direct marketers in the world several years ago. And, the Direct Marketing Club of New York recently honored her with the prestigious Silver Apple Award, which is given to distinguished direct marketers for contributions to the industry.

Ms. Brady is also a frequent featured speaker at national and international conferences on the topic of email and permission marketing. Events include The Direct Marketing Association's annual conference, net.marketing, Direct Marketing to Business, National Center for Database Marketing, Direct Marketing Days in New York, the Conference for Catalog and Multichannel Merchants, and more.



Chuck Mora - Creative Director

Chuck graduating at the top of his class from the New York Institute of Advertising on Madison Avenue. He then built a highly successful 25 year career as a Copywriter and then Executive Creative Director with about a dozen of the leading multi-national advertising agency networks such as J. Walter Thompson, Young & Rubicam, Ogilvy & Mather, Leo Burnett etc. in 9 different countries (USA, Canada, Sweden, Australia, the Philippines, Saudi Arabia, New Zealand and Sri Lanka).

He has a wall full of top international creative awards for his work in print, television and radio during that "era" including a "Clio" in 1980 and both Mobius (Chicago) and Mercury (New York) "Best of Show" awards in 1991.

With the emergence of the internet in the early 90's he made the switch from advertising agencies to marketing technology and innovation. He joined the Nova Scotia Technology Network in the mid-90's and helped create, launch and grow the iStar brand into one of the largest and most successful internet service provider companies in Canadian history culminating in a 40 million dollar IPO in 1995. He was also the recipient of a Canadian Internet Award in 1996 as publisher of the "Best Internet Resource" for the "True North" website.

He then launched his own, and North America's first, marketing agency focused strictly on the IT community, Ad Source One Inc. In this capacity he has provided guidance to a large number of technology-oriented companies and start-ups.



David Olinoski - Sales

David is a results driven marketing executive with over 12 years experience leading ecommerce and multi-channel marketing, sales, and operations in highly competitive markets.

He has proven his ability to develop highly effective and measurable strategies to drive revenue growth, build market presence, increase customer acquisition, and expand brand awareness.

Dave was VP Sales for EMAX a pioneer in email marketing. He was COO for Aucxis Corporation, an Ecommerce company who developed an online auction system for Reverse Auctions (Dutch Clock Auctions) allowing perishable commodities to be purchased by distant buyers expanding markets for producers. He was also SVP Business Development with Digital Connections Corporation and has been a Marketing/Sales consultant to many companies entering the e-marketing space with their products and services.



Susan O'Neil - Client Services

Susan is a seasoned client services executive with over 15 years of traditional and online experience.

Currently at Bamboo Cricket, an online customer service company offering Inbound Email Management and Live Chat, Susan is responsible for managing the Client Services team in all aspects of client engagement as well as leading product direction and development planning.

Prior to joining Bamboo Cricket, Susan led the Toronto Client Services team for Yesmail, Inc. working with top clients such as Conde Nast Publications, Penton Media and Datran Media to deliver successful revenue generating e-marketing programs. Susan also managed the Project Management Office for dthree, inc., an interactive agency, and was Director of Operations for beer.com . In addition, she was Director of Client Services for Integram Marketing Group, a traditional full-service agency, delivering programs for clients such as Gillette, TD Waterhouse, Pepsi and Microsoft.



Barbara Westhorpe - Project Management

Barbara has a 15-year history in online marketing and serving
e-marketing clients. She formed Bamboo Cricket in early 2006 to provide an online solution for processing inbound email. Under her direction, the company expanded its offerings in 2007 to include live chat. As President, Barbara manages operations and is committed to building long-term relationships with Bamboo Cricket's customers.

Prior to the inception of Bamboo Cricket, Barbara was co-founder of Digital Connexxions Corporation, which was purchased by InfoUSA in 2006. The company established itself as the premiere supplier of e-marketing solutions services to the publishing industry and was recognized as one of Canada's Top 50 Technology Companies. Prior to Digital Connexxions. Barbara was a founding partner in Atlantic Connect Inc. that grew to become the largest Internet Service Provider in Atlantic Canada and later sold to Hookup Communications in 1996.



Woulter Hulst - Digital Strategy

Wouter has a background in the ICT market, working for both Dell Computer and Cisco Systems. His experience with Dell developed his knowledge of operational excellence, process optimization and driving productivity through pricing, people and e-business. His experience with Cisco developed his online skills concerning IP, data and technical developments like video, mobile, web 2.0, which change the user experience. After working in various senior management positions for these companies in sales and marketing, Wouter joined the largest online publisher in the Netherlands, Sanoma Media, in 2008 as commercial director. At Sanoma he implemented a customer-centric commercial approach and developed this commercial strategy further into a performance and branding business.

Wouter also was on the board of the Stichting Internet Reclame (Joint Industry Committee for Digital Media in the Netherlands) and was a member of the board of Internet Advertising Bureau in the Netherlands. He holds a Masters in Business Administration from TiasNimbas School of Management.

In 2010 he started his own company: 201. 201 helps companies simplify their digital media framework from technology and process to people. Through his experience working for large scale publishers like Sanoma, Grupo Prisa and Deutsche Telecom/Interactive media Wouter has developed a broad and deep understanding about ad-operations, performance marketing, business analytics, audience management, cross-media analysis and commercial sales development. 201 combines knowledge about systems, people and processes to deliver improved business results. Through this network of connected publishers a strong network with the largest European Publishers is expanding this experience base. Besides this, 201 also uses this experience to help the digital publisher market optimize their commercial process from product development to pricing models and European roll-out.



Emanuel Esteves - Director of Technology

Emanuel Esteves has worked on a variety of complex projects over the years, including overseeing the development of a detailed Enterprise Management System for Laserdata, Lda. a software development and software distribution company from Lisbon, Portugal. This system is currently deployed in Portugal and Africa.

He has been working in the computer field for over thirty years. During this time, he has held a number of leadership positions working as an application designer, an information systems manager, a system engineer and as a professor of computer sciences.

He has also held senior systems development positions with Royal Insurance and Gerling Global in Toronto, Canada, the country where he now resides.

He brings his depth of experience, technical skills and management capabilities to The Westhorpe Group, where he supports clients in areas as diversified as data management, warehouse management, bill of materials, order processing, online payment, client resources and electronic document management.



Giles Crouch - Social Media/Political Consultant

A pioneer in the field of social media monitoring and analysis, Giles has had a diverse, 20-year career in international business, government relations, and entrepreneurism. When it comes to social media and emerging online communications, Giles has been recognized internationally as a thought leader. Giles has lectured on social technologies and international communications at Saint Mary’s University, Mount Saint Vincent University, Witwatersrand University (South Africa), and Kings College School of Journalism. Giles is a regular contributor on Nova Scotia talk radio show, Maritime Morning on News 95.7 on social media issues. He has been interviewed numerous times on social media issues around marketing, politics online and civil society by CBC Television and Global News as well as a guest on CBC Radio’s "Type-A" show on innovation and CTV News national. In the US he has been interviewed on social media and political issues by The Wall Street Journal, WLOB Talk Radio in Portland Maine and the Huffington Post as well as BBC Channel 4 news in the UK.

He is co-creator/founder of the Ice Awards creative advertising awards for Atlantic Canada and a ten year advisor to the Entrepreneurs’ Forum. He has worked with senior government members in South Africa, UAE, Germany, United Kingdom, Canada, and parts of Latin America on issues of cyber diplomacy or eDiplomacy and trade. Giles has presented to the US Congress, EU Parliament and Canadian House of Commons in Ottawa.



James Payson - Search Engine Marketing

It didn't take long after finishing a business degree with a major in marketing at Acadia University in Nova Scotia, for James to realize the potential of online marketing. He quickly got a job with a category-leading business software company that did over 90% of its business online. During his time at this company and the years since, he has become a master of a number of online marketing disciplines, but it has been the work with SEM that has really captured his attention. The responsive and highly accountable nature of search marketing; being able to make changes and instantly see the results and adjust tactics is a dream for a results-driven marketer like James.

As a Google Adwords Authorized Consultant, he has managed a number of successful pay-per-click marketing campaigns. Also, with his work in search engine optimization, he has brought a number of sites out of obscurity in the search results pages to top ten rankings.
